Even further down the rabbit hole...

Of all of the great tracks that came out last year, Erotic Discourse by Bobby Peru stood out in my mind as one of the most perverse with it's delayed vibrations that seemed to breathe the listener in and out. I loved it so much that I stuck with it even after it bombed on more than one dancefloor. There's nothing like the eyes of a horde of dumbstruck kids locked on you wishing you would disintegrate. Well, it's time to invite their scorn again because 20:20 Vision has just released two updated versions. I feel a mixture of jealousy and pity to anyone given the assignment to try and re-imagine Paul Woolford's completely unique barnstormer but Audiojack and 2020 Soundsystem pass the test with flying colors. I prefer the latter mix however with it's bassline that adds a funky dimension to the whole affair. That bassline is so good that I can almost imagine that horde of kids getting down to it. Almost. This duo have an album out in March, from what little I've heard from it so far, I imagine it will rip trees out from their roots, tear down houses and destroy entire cities. Can't wait. Paris is back.
